Suicide bombers attacked three cities in Saudi Arabia on Monday, killing at least four security officers. A man blew himself up when confronted by security personnel at a parking lot outside the Prophet's Mosque in Medina, the second-holiest site in Islam. Four people were killed and several wounded.

Another blast injured two people in the early hours of the morning near the US Consulate in the kingdom's second city, Jeddah. In Qatif, an eastern city that is home to many members of the Shi'ite minority, at least one and possibly two explosions took place near a Shi'ite mosque.
