In 2015, trade volume between China and Poland reached over 17 billion US dollars. And with the promotion of the Belt and Road Initiative, business delegations from both countries are looking forward to take their partnership to a new level.

In 2013, Jiangsu Lantian Aerospace Industrial Park bought a Polish company. The first Chinese private enterprise to buy an aircraft manufacturing firm.

In the past three years, with the cooperation of the Polish company, the industrial park is selling its products to Europe and North America. Now, China and Poland are signing two new projects.

"We will bring these two new projects back to China, and we will do as President XI told us. We will introduce domestic investment to the foreign market to bring in high tech business. We would like to extend our business into the foreign market," said Ma Haibing, chairman of Jiangsu Lantian Aerospace Industrial Park.

The Polish company hopes it, too, will benefit from the new project.

"We hope in the future to benefit from access to the Chinese market. And our Chinese partner will benefit with research and development and our knowledge," said Grzegorz Myslowski, CEO of Marganski & Myslowski Zaklady Lotnicze.

Investments between China and Poland have steadily increased in the past few years. China is now Poland’s biggest business partner.

"I think it’s a great step forward, and we’re very happy to strengthen our relations with China. It’s one of the largest and the most powerful country in the world with rapid economic development. It offers Poland an excellent opportunity for strengthening our own economy," said Przemyslaw Zurawski Vel Grajewski, vice chairman of PISM Council.

"I think for Poland it’s a great chance to discuss further cooperation. We’re very open to Chinese investments and investors. We appreciate the commitment of Chinese capital in central Europe. Poland wants to be an important part of one belt one road initiative," said Domagalski Radoslaw, undersecretary of Polish Ministry of Development.

China and Poland established diplomatic ties in 1949. Officials hope the 2016 Silk Road Forum will provide more bilateral ties and opportunities to support and learn from each other.
