Chinese President Xi Jinping has arrived in Poland. He touched down in the home country of the great composer Frederic Chopin on Sunday, making it the second stop of his three-nation Eurasia tour, which is aimed at cementing bilateral ties and strengthening China's relations with Europe. It's the first state visit to Poland by a Chinese president in 12 years.

The influence of Chopin is greatly seen in Poland. The late great composer has become a calling card for the country.

"Chopin is an icon of Poland in the world," said Polish people.

"Chopin is the most famous Polish person ever," said Polish people.

Chopin's music embodies the spirit of Polish people. They suffered great losses during historical periods of strife. Poland was one of the most damaged countries during the second World War. Warsaw was once left in ruins by Nazi Germany. But the people persevered: in just five years' time, the Polish citizens rebuilt the old town of Warsaw, which was later listed as a world heritage site by UNESCO.

"Warsaw is a special town..." said Marek Zamecznik historian.

Poland is among one of the first countries to recognize and establish diplomatic ties with the People's Republic of China. More than 2000 years ago, Poland was an important stop on the ancient Silk Road, connecting Asia and Europe.

Now, Poland is an active participant of the 'One Belt, One Road' economic and development initiative initiated by President Xi Jinping.

China attaches great importance to its ties with Poland.  The countries share a friendship that will help them expand their cooperation in all fields and take bilateral relations to a new height.
