Cooperation between China and Poland has been continuously strengthening ever since the establishment of their strategic partnership. And through the "16+1 mechanism" and the "One belt-One road" initiative, it seems there is great potential for further economic cooperation.

With their bilateral trade volume having risen to more than US$17 billion in 2015 -- a six-fold increase on 2004 -- Poland has become the largest trading partner of China in Central and Eastern Europe. With support from both governments, China and Poland have achieved a lot in trade cooperation.

There are more than fifty pairs of China-Poland sister cities. And in the newly-announced development plan from the Poland government, more projects are expected to involve China. During the Polish Prime Minister's visit to China in April, he said he looked forward to more Chinese investment in infrastructure projects, such as airports, high-speed rails, and docks.

On top of that, cultural and educational exchanges have also been boosted. In 2015, there were more than 1,800 Polish students studying in China, and about 1,300 Chinese students going the other way.
