The Hollywood Walk of Fame is one of the most popular tourist destinatons in Los Angeles, where commemorative stars dedicated to well-known figures from the entertainment industry make up a permanent sidewalk display. However, one star in particular has received some unwanted attention.

The Hollywood Walk of Fame - home to more than 2,500 stars forever memorialized for their achievements in entertainment. Most visitors take a simple photo of their favorite stars, but every once in a while, a star becomes a target.

Such as Donald Trump. He received a star in 2007 for his work on the reality television show, "The Apprentice."

"Are you surprised "

"Yeah, definitely very surprised."

"I'm surprised, because in Germany, he has a negative image."

Some are beyond surprised. Since Trump began his presidential bid, some have expressed their disdain by defacing his star. Vandals painted a mute icon. Another time, a swastika. A dog even relieved itself on Trump's star.

Unofficial Hollywood Ambassador Gregg Donovan says, like it or not, it's all about the Donald on the walk of fame these days.

"Michael Jackson, Elvis Presley, Muhammad Ali, But now, it's not that anymore, it's Donald Trump. They all ask me, where's the star."

Trump's star has been cleaned and repaired several times by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which warns vandals will face prosecution and fines.

This isn't the first time a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame has been vandalized. The star of Bill Cosby was marked up with the word rapist several times after he was accused of sexual assault by multiple women. There have been many requests to remove his star, but the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce hasn't budged.

The chamber says, "The Hollywood Walk of Fame is a registered historic landmark. Once a star has been added to the Walk, it is considered a part of the historic fabric of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Because of this, we have never removed a star from the Walk."  Which means Trump's star will stay put, even though more than 40-thousand people have signed a petition to remove it.

What's also likely to stay put strong opinions about the presumptive presidential nominee.

"He's a star himself."

"So you're a Trump fan "

"Absolutely."

"Some people like him, some people hate him."

"I'm one of the haters."
