Full coverage: 50 Dead in Orlando Nightclub Shooting
Authorities have revised the number of dead victims in the Orlando nightclub shooting rampage down to 49, because the gunman was initially counted among the dead.
The FBI said it won't include the shooter as a victim. Forty eight victims have been identified so far, and the families of about half of them have been already notified.
The shooter, Omar Mateen, is a 29-year-old New York native and son of Afghan immigrants. He was reported to have called nine-one-one, pledging allegiance to the Islamic State group shortly before the massacre.
Orlando police said Mateen sounded calm and did not say much over the phone. Meanwhile, local media reports that a third firearm and some files in Arabic have been found at Mateen's car, parked outside the nightclub.
