World leaders gather for the second day at the World Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul. The UN-backed summit aims to initiate a revamp of a humanitarian system that's been in place for decades, and is struggling to meet the needs of over 100 million worldwide.

The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon called on participants to uphold their responsibilities in preventing and ending conflict, and to respect the rules of war. The two-day summit aims to implement new measures to an outdated system of aid by mobilizing more funds for humanitarian aid, and possibly improving aid distribution through smaller local aid agencies.
