Across Asia, several countries are struggling to cope with severe weather conditions. In southern Asia, Cyclone Roanu pounded the island nation of Sri Lanka earlier this week -- triggering floods and landslides that left more than 80 people dead.

The first cyclone of this year's monsoon season then barreled into Bangladesh's coast, killing at least 20 people and forcing a half million people to evacuate their homes. Rescue efforts are underway, while more rainfall is forecasted for the region.
