China's State Council on Friday appointed Zhang Tao as a new deputy governor of the People's Bank of China. Zhang previously was the IMF's executive director for China between 2011 and 2015.
Zhang later became a director of China's central bank. Media reports speculate that Zhang will be a likely successor to IMF Vice President Zhu Min.
