The Agricultural Development Bank of China has provided more financial support to the country's rural development in the first quarter. The major policy bank poured in over 380 billion yuan, or nearly US$60 billion, to support agriculture sector and its farmers, doubling the amount in the same period last year.
More than 250 billion yuan was loaned to infrastructure projects, such as town renovation and road construction. The surge in lending comes amid a government campaign to develop modern agriculture technology and increase farmers' income.
