The Chinese government is calling for an upgrade of consumer products industries to boost consumption. According to the State Council on Wednesday, China will improve product quality and the standards for local brands by pushing forward supply-side reforms, enforcing regulations to ensure market access as well as streamlining approvals. The government will also strengthen product quality tests. It will set up black lists and levy huge fines for wrongdoings.
