Iran says its air defense system is in possession of a Russian S-300 missile system. The Iranian Defense Minister said they also designed their own version of the system, called "Bavar 373".

It will be launched before March 2017. Parts of the S-300 missile system were on display last month during a military parade in Tehran.

Iran says the missile system is to strengthen its air defence against possible attacks. The US and Israel have criticised Russia for the sale.
