South Korea's President Park Geun-hye has met with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in Tehran, on the second day of her high-level visit to Iran.

Earlier on Monday, Park held talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, in what was the first meeting between the two nations' heads of state since diplomatic ties were established in 1962.

The Korean Peninsula finds ways to boost ties topped discussions. The two countries are looking to triple their annual trade volume to 18 billion US dollars, and signed 19 wide-ranging cooperation deals. These cover, among others, maritime transportation and relevant infrastructure development, as well as energy, finance and tourism.
