Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused the international coalition of not doing enough to battle the Islamic State group in Syria.
“None of those who claim to fight against ISIL in Syria have had as many losses as we have, nor have they paid as big a price as we have. They left us alone in our struggle against this group, that hurts us with suicide bombings and attacks on Kilis,” Erdogan said.
The border town of Kilis has come under frequent attack from rockets fired across the border from Syria. Turkey started to carry out air strikes against the jihadist group last summer. It also allows U.S. jets to use its air base in southern Turkey for air strikes on the extremist group.
Turkey is on maximum alert after a series of attacks attributed to Islamic State in recent months.
