Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday in the Black Sea resort of Sochi.

Putin's chief foreign policy advisor Yury Ushakov said the visit is aimed at bolstering ties, and seeking to resolve a decades-long territorial dispute. However, Ushakov said no document will be signed, as a bilateral peace treaty is "a complex and multifaceted issue".
