In Olympic news China's women's football team ended their 3-day training camp Thursday as they prepare to be the first team from this country to compete in Rio. The Steel Roses will take on host nation Brazil before the official opening of the Olympics in August.
This was a chance for coach Bruno Bini to take a look at some of the fringe players of his squad with all 20 who trained this week not playing a part in March's Asian Zone qualifiers in Japan. This will be the first time since Beijing in 2008 that the women's team have reached the multi-sport event after a disastrous qualifying campaign for London 2012.

A strong showing in the world cup in Canada last year and dominant displays in Rio qualifying saw the team rise to 17th in the FIFA world rankings and the French boss is calling upon those who haven't featured recently to give him a selection headache.
"I will only put them into the final line up if they can perform better, then they will have chance to attend the Rio Olympics," Bruno Bini said.
