The leaders of the European Union’s biggest nations and the U.S. have gathered for talks in Germany.

The G5 countries Germany, France, Britain, Italy and the U.S. met in Hanover on the final day of President Barack Obama’s two-day visit, in which he pushed for the conclusion to negotiations on a U.S.-Europe trade deal. The leaders discussed an array of issues, including those Obama says are putting European unity “under strain.”

They also spoke about efforts to counter the threat of the Islamic State group, one month after the jihadists claimed responsibility for attacks that killed more than 30 people in Brussels.
