Full coverage: Paris Climate Agreement
So, what exactly does the Paris Agreement entail? According to the European Commission, member states are required to keep the world from warming more than 2 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels.
Under the agreement, Members will also try to maintain a "zero carbon footprint". That means taking the same amount of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere as they release into the atmosphere.
There are a total of 29 clauses under the Paris Agreement. They include methods for carbon reduction, funding, technology, capacity building, and transparency.
