As the Olympic Torch makes its way through the Birthplace of the Games, one of the most anticipated events during the Greek leg of the journey will be next Wednesday's Exchange Ceremony in Athens.
The festivities at the Panathenaic Stadium will include a performance by a youth chorus, and a teenager named Luo Yuqi should expect to have many fans in the PRC watching her group's recital, as she is the only participant of Chinese descent on the program.
A total of 350 youngsters are on deck to sing in next week's youth chorus performance in Athens, with Luo Yuqi standing out among the participants who will be raising their voices, as the Torch Relay passes through.
The 16-year-old was born in the Greek capital, to Chinese parents who moved to the country during their youths. Luo attended kindergarten in the PRC, before subsequently returning to Europe, and says she thinks Greek and Chinese are two of the world's most beautiful languages.
"After several rehearsals and practices, I am more used to it, and it is fantastic. I can sing the song very well now," said Luo Yuqi, Youth Chorus member.
The head of the International Olympic Academy says he's looking forward to seeing Luo sing with her group.
Luo adds that the chorus is aiming to express to young people what the Olympic Flame means, and through their performance spread the message of worldwide cooperation and friendship.
