New Zealand is the first developed country to sign a free trade agreement with China in 2008. The trade volume between the two countries hit 15 billion US dollars last year, and the figure is expected to jump by 50 percent by the year 2020. The trade covers many fields, such as livestock farming, environmental protection technology, and clean energy.
During a luncheon with Chinese entrepreneurs on Monday, New Zealand Prime Minister John Key said his visit also aims to push forward business cooperation between major companies from the two countries. The Trade Minister, the Primary Industries Minister, and heads of dairy giants are also in New Zealand's delegation.
