Six people have been killed, with 734,000 people affected by a rainstorm in central China's Hunan Province.

Heavy rain has been affecting most parts of the province since April. It has destroyed roads, damaged houses and flooded crops. A total of 11,000 local residents have been relocated, but over 7,000 still require aid.

In Southeast China's Jiangxi Province, the water level of Ganjiang, the second largest tributary of the Yangtze River, has reached above warning levels, and is still rising.

It is estimated that the rains will continue until Thursday, especially in areas in the middle and downstream of the Yangtze river.
