Call for pragmatic dialogue for Nagorno-Karabakh conflict

Foreign Ministers from the Commonwealth of Independent States, or the CIS, have met in Moscow to discuss regional issues, including the recent conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh.

The meeting also discussed collaboration on culture, medical treatment, and military between the member countries of the CIS. The foreign minister of Kyrgyzstan -- chair nation of this year's meeting -- has announced that Prime Ministers from the Commonwealth of Independent States will meet this July in the nation's capital of Bishkek.

The foreign ministers also issued a joint declaration, calling for Azerbaijan and Armenia to strictly comply with ceasefire, restraint, and to avoid new deaths.

"We sincerely hope both sides of the conflict can return to pragmatic dialougue, and to keep the dialouge open until all problems are solved," said  Sergey Lebedev, executive secretary of CIS.
