Pan-Arab al-Mayadeen TV reports that 140 workers have managed to escape their captors. 204 others are still being held hostage inside a factory, in the town of Dumair, northeast of the capital Damascus. Earlier reports said a group of rebels, who pledged alliance to ISIL, were behind the attack. They also targeted a local airbase, but were repelled by Syrian army troops. The town of Dumair is divided between the Islamist groups and the Syrian army. State news agency SANA reports that authorities are working to secure the release of those workers still being held captive.
