22 killed in eastern India's bus-trailer collision

MUMBAI, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- At least 22 persons were killed in Sunday evening's collision between a bus and a truck-trailer in eastern India's state of West Bengal, said police on Monday.

The collision occurred as the trailer driver suddenly changed lanes at Kulgachia in West Bengal's Howrah district on Sunday evening, according to police.

Twelve bodies were recovered on the spot and 10 others died in the hospitals, including two persons succumbed to the injuries Monday morning, said police.

Police said the 22 injured were still receiving the treatment in the hospitals, at least 12 of them were in the critical condition.
