An express train has derailed in Bhiwandi, in India's western Maharashtra state, injuring at least 45 people.
The train originated from Gujarat state, and was travelling south to Bangalore, but derailed around 2.00 AM local time Wednesday about 50 kilometers northeast of Mumbai.
The accident derailed twelve coaches, causing severe damage to two. Most of the passengers were asleep at the time, and no deaths have been reported.
Rescue teams have been sent to the site to assist the injured. The derailment is India's second train accident in a month.
