Speaker: Parliament to review Iran's ties with voters to IAEA Friday resolution

TEHRAN, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- Iran's Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani Thursday said Iran's Parliament will review the ties with the voters to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Friday resolution against Iran, the official IRNA news agency reported.

Larijani said the Foreign Policy and National Security Commission of the Iran's Parliament will review the country's ties with the states which voted for the latest anti-Iran resolution of the UN nuclear watchdog, according to the report.

The Commission is investigating the IAEA anti-Iran resolution "carefully" and is also reviewing Iran's relations with the UN nuclear watchdog and examining the way to deal with its latest resolution against the country, Larijani told reporters in northern Iranian city of Amol.

Last Friday, IAEA board of governors passed a resolution in Vienna, calling for the "full cooperation" of Iran to clarify all outstanding issues involving its nuclear program and requiring Iran to stop construction on the newly-disclosed Fordo uranium enrichment facility near the central Iranian city of Qom.

The move was the IAEA's first adoption of a resolution against Iran after the one adopted in February 2006. The IAEA board of governors passed the resolution with 25 voting for, six abstentions, one absence while Cuba, Venezuela and Malaysia voting against.

"The latest vote of the Board of Governors of IAEA was not logical," Larijani was quoted as saying.

Western powers suspect Iran of attempting to build nuclear weapons, but Tehran said its nuclear program is aimed at generating nuclear energy for civilian purposes.
