　　演講題目：I AM AN OLYMPIC TORCH PERSON

　　Ladies and Gentlemen:

　　Good afternoon. I am very happy to have a chance to stand here to say something about the Olympic Games and CCTV. It is a big issue and it is very meaningful. Because television can be broadcasted around the world these days. the media is playing more and more important role in all kinds of reports including the Olympic games reports. Since the 2008 Olympic Game is so special to Chinese, CCTV will be the world focus at that moment. Meanwhile, CCTV will be tested by the whole world. So what we should do. First of all, it is important for us to quicken media technical developments, And more important, every member of CCTV should try their best to do something for the preparation Of the Olympic Game reports. So the topic of my today’s speech is I AM AN OLYMPIC TORCH PERSON.

　　Do you still remember several days ago, the Olympic Saint Fire entered Beijing, Bai Yansong , one of our colleagues, showed charming smile when he caught the TORCH. We can hear the steps of Olympic games are getting closer and closer.

　　The memory of Sydney Olympic Games is still very clear. It is no doubt that Australian Media gave out a satisfied answer paper. I think CCTV does a good job of giving us the update news and providing us with entertainment. Improved over the years For instance, It is now offering a better range of service. There are now a lot of programs like talk shows, documentaries, comedies and even movies on them. I think the best time have come in the television area.

　　Of course, the media needs more improvement. People would like to see more in-depth issues and more feedbacks from outside of China. Also, I think there should be more channels. For example, I’ve heard that in some cities in North America there are over hundred channels with many specialized topics. I think we should have that kind of situation. All these improvement can be helpful to the Olympic Game reports.

　　As far as Olympic Games stars, I admire Fu Mingxia, because I can imagine how nervous she felt having the whole world watching her, yet, she controlled that nervousness masterfully to make a perfect dive. Also, her diving style was unique and very brave, and because of her innovative style, she has brought pride to our country. I think people can learn that nothing is impossible if we make our minds to be the best. We should not always think we can just do what we must do . Our goals should be much more ambitious. We should try to be the best because we can take pride from the value of hard work in everything we do. Only in this way, we can be said an Olympic Torch Person.

　　We are looking forward to new records of Chinese Sportsmen in 2008 Olympic Games. We are looking forward to the wonderful show of CCTV. Let’s try from now.
