Bio of Charlotte Howard - Host of Rediscovering China

I grew up in New York City and have always been drawn to adventure and travel. I majored in English literature, studied abroad in Paris, and have been pursing a career in journalism/television production for several years now.

I moved to Beijing just after graduation, in search of a challenge. For me, China was not a foreseeable part of my future. I moved here on an adventurous impulse. I had spent my entire life in New York City and was anxious to move abroad and experience something entirely new.

China - a major focus of the world right now, and Beijing - a city full of both opportunity and challenge was very appealing to me. The media experience I can gain here is incomparable to that in the States. I simply thought ‘why not?’ and booked a one-way ticket to Beijing.

I am thrilled to join the Rediscovering China team and combine my interests in travel, adventure, and television production. China is constantly changing and always surprising me. I am excited to discover its old and new characteristics, and many interesting layers, and to share that with our audience along the way.
