The First Session of the 10th National People's Congress (NPC) is to hold its last meeting at 9:00 a.m. here Tuesday.
Newly-elected President Hu Jintao and NPC Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo are scheduled to address the closing session that marks the completion of the generational transition of the government leadership.
The plenum will adopt resolutions endorsing the government work report, the report on the work of the 9th NPC Standing Committee, and the reports presented to the NPC by the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.
The meeting will also adopt resolutions accepting the report on the implementation of the 2002 plan for national economic and social development and on the draft plan for 2003, as well as the report on the implementation of the central and local budgets for 2002 and the draft central and local budgets for 2003.
