寄語：為創造一個更寬容和和諧的社會努力

HIV/AIDS is more than a medical disaster. It is hurting households, slowing economic growth, and robbing countries of invaluable human talent and ingenuity. However, there is cause for hope. HIV infection is preventable. And medications now exist that can provide highly effective treatment.
In China, HIV case reports indicate that the HIV/AIDS epidemic is spreading into the general population. There is emerging evidence that the proportion of sexually transmitted HIV infections is increasing and the proportion of female HIV cases has increased considerably in recent years. The response to HIV/AIDS in China is now at a crucial stage.
The cooperation between CCTV.com and the United Nations Theme Group on HIV/AIDS in China is a joint effort to establish a platform to provide recent and up-to-date information on HIV prevention and AIDS care to the general public. The purpose is to get people to participate in HIV prevention and AIDS care activities, increase the awareness of AIDS, promote communication and effective exchange of information between the government, NGOs, the private sector and individuals, and reduce the stigmatization and discrimination of people living with AIDS. HIV is not a death sentence. But silence about HIV and AIDS can be one. As UNAIDS Country Coordinator, I would like to encourage everyone to speak out about HIV and AIDS to create a more accepting and harmonious society for everyone, including people with AIDS.

艾滋病不僅僅是一個醫學災難。它的流行正在摧毀著家庭、阻礙經濟的發展病蹂躪著個國極為寶貴的人力資源和精神財富。然而，我們仍有理由滿懷希望，艾滋病是可以預防的，同時當今的醫學還可以提供非常有效的治療。
中國的艾滋病正由高危人群向一般人群傳播。新的證據顯示近年來經行傳播途徑感染的比例有所上升，女性感染者的比例有較大幅度的上升。中國控制艾滋病正處在一個關鍵時期。
央視國際與聯合國艾滋病中國專題工作組及時合作，在CCTV.com上開闢了艾滋病專題欄目。旨在為公眾提供最新信息和信息交流的平臺，吸引公眾積極參與， 促進政府、非政府組織、私營部門、個人進行有效的信息溝通和交流、共享，提高科學知識知曉率、減少對艾滋病病毒感染者和病人的歧視。做為聯合國艾滋病規劃署國家協調員， 我在此鼓勵大家充分利用這個平臺，交換信息、發表看法，為每一個人，包括艾滋病病毒感染者和病人，創造一個更寬容和和諧的社會。
