CPPCC members discuss key issues

    Agriculture, education, rural development, job creation and the lack of back pay were key issues discussed by members of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, or CPPCC, China's top advisory body.

    The CPPCC convened its third plenary meeting on Monday where 14 CPPCC members gave presentations on a wide range of issues including the "Three direct links" with Taiwan and compulsory education and job creation for university graduates.

    Their speeches also touched on issues such as population management and assistance to ethnic minorities and the disabled. Jia Qinglin, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and other leaders were also in attendance.
