China confirms more cases of bird flu

Six suspected outbreaks of the deadly H-5-N-1 bird flu have been confirmed by the National Bird Flu Reference Laboratory.

The Ministry of Agriculture reported that the confirmed cases are in the provinces of Yunnan and Guangdong and the municipalities of Shanghai and Tianjin.

The national Bird Flu Laboratory has also confirmed that the deaths of black swans in a zoo in the city of Shenzhen in Guangdong were caused by the same virus.

The Ministry has said that all the above outbreaks have been brought under control.
