| HK official meets counterparts ahead of 2002 APEC meetings |

Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology Henry Tang Wednesday met several counterparts ahead of the annual APEC Ministerial Meetings on October 23-24 in Los Cabos, Mexico, HK government gazette said.
Tang met Singapore's Minister of Trade and Industry George Yeo, Mexico's Minister of Economy Luis Derbez, and attended a reception for the Buick Group of APEC economies.
The Buick Group consists of Australia, Canada, Chile, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States.
Topics discussed during the meetings included this year's APEC agenda, the fight against terrorism, ongoing negotiations under the WTO's Doha Development Agenda and an upcoming informal meeting of World Trade Organization ministers in Sydney in November.
