Following China's accession into the WTO, Chinese Taipei entered the world's largest trade body on Sunday. The Chinese government released a statement welcoming the move. The Chinese government says Chinese Taipei's accession to the WTO helps promote economic development on the island and serves the interests of all the citizens in Taiwan. The statement also urged the Taiwan authorities to recognize the one China principle, noting that further economic cooperation across the Taiwan strait can only develop within the framework of the one China policy.
