NPC Standing Committee Endorses China's WTO Entry |

China's highest legislative body, the National People's Congress Standing Committee, has given the State Council the green light to wrap up the country's WTO membership negotiations.
The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress has reviewed progress reports on China's WTO accession. And it has fully endorsed the moves.
The NPC Standing Committee says, China is the world's biggest developing country and its WTO membership will contribute to the country's reform, opening up and economic development. It will also serve the need for the establishment of a complete and open international trading system.
The NPC Standing Committee has given approval to the State Council to conclude the accession negotiations and designate its representative to sign the membership protocol. Then Chinese President Jiang Zemin will ratify the document.
