Cambodian officials said that they would attend a conference of the World Trade Organization (WTO) after changing their ideas on WTO meeting, according to the Cambodia Daily Saturday.
The Cambodian delegation had previously decided to skip WTO meeting to be held from November 7 to 17 in Qatar for security concern.
Sok Siphana, secretary of State for Commerce, said Friday that officials changed their minds, adding that "We need to show the political will of our government".
He noted that Cambodia has been campaigning to join the WTO which will help the country's economy by taking advantage of the lower tariffs and regulations enjoyed by member states.
Four officials, including Secretary of State Sok Siphana and economist Sous Someth, will head for Qatar for the WTO meeting.
