China's upcoming entry to the World Trade Organization (WTO) will help accelerate the "three direct links" across the Taiwan straits, said Chinese Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation Shi Guangsheng Thursday.
Shi made the remark at a joint ministerial press conference afterthe APEC two-day Ministerial Meeting.
China is expected to become a full member of WTO after the 4th WTO Ministerial Meeting in Doha in early November, said Shi, adding Chinese Taipei will also become a member of the WTO then.
The three direct links refer to cross-straits links in trade, transportation and postal services.
