The government has already made "a comprehensive strategy" to deal with the existing situation about the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in the country, said the minister in an interview with the country's top news agency Associated Press of Pakistan (APP).

He said the Health Ministry has already asked travelers to postpone trips to SARS-affected countries to protect themselves from the disease.

Pakistani people were also asked to maintain good body immunity, proper diet, regular exercises and adequate rest to keep safe from SARS infection.

The ministry also suggested people cover the nose and mouth while sneezing or coughing and wash hands after coughing, sneezing or wiping the nose.

Strict checking has already been imposed on the flights at major airports like in the country's largest city Karachi. So far, no case of SARS virus has been reported from any part of the country.
