　　大家好，歡迎你們如約來到希望英語雜誌“週二娛樂秀”。In today’s Sing a Song, we’ll learn a very popular song, White Flag by Dido. 這首歌的演唱者，Dido是近期非常走紅的一位英國歌星。她從六歲便開始唱歌，並能熟練的演奏鋼琴，小提琴，可謂是多才多藝。

　　剛才我們聽到的那首歌是來自Dido的White Flag. 聽了這首歌，讓我想起了一個人，那就是前不久剛剛去世的扮演“超人”的演員Christopher Reeve. 他也從來不向命運舉起白旗。投降是的他曾經就説過 A hero is an ordinary individual who finds strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles.英雄就是一個平常人，儘管他遇到難以忍受的挫折，仍然可以找到堅持和忍耐的力量。

　　Superman:

　　Superman is the son of Jor, a leading scientist on the planet Krypton. When Krypton becomes doomed, Jor makes sure that his infant son will survive, and gives him powerful abilities.

　　Superman is sent to the earth, where he is discovered and adopted by a kind couple, who give him the name Clark Kent.

　　As Superman grows up, his extraordinary super-powers become stronger.

　　After Clark graduates, he takes a job in a newspaper office, where he meets his girlfriend, Lois.

　　Superman fulfills his responsibility to preserve and protect truth and justice.

　　One day the super-villain Lex Luthor launches two guided missiles targeted to an unknown destinations in America. Superman’s task is to find out the destination of the missiles before they reach their target. But Lex attacks Superman with Kryptonite, the only substance that can weaken the Man of Steel.

　　Finally, Superman is able to take off and divert one of the missiles into outer space, but the other one explodes on target. Superman tries his best to save the lives of the people.

　　However, his girlfriend, Lois, dies in the calamity. Superman is very sad, and with amazing effort, he actually causes the earth reverse its rotation, thus reversing time. And in this way, his is able to bring Lois back to life.

　　在這幾年來，又有一個像超人似的英雄形象的人物出現了，那就是大家熟悉的，現在非常火爆的蜘蛛人，spiderman. 的確，自從spiderman的電影問世以來，spiderman大有要超過superman之勢，下面我們就來看一看spiderman到底是怎樣的。

　　Spider-man

　　Peter Parker is a student living with his Aunt May and Uncle Ben after the death of his parents. One day, he is bitten by a radioactive spider on a high school class trip. The accident miraculously gives him incredible spider-like abilities.

　　Peter’s uncle is shot to death by a criminal, and in his sadness Peter remembers something Uncle Ben once told him: "With great power, comes great responsibility." Peter takes this advice to heart, and decides to use his extraordinary powers for good instead of for selfish purposes.

　　The love of his life is Mary Jane, whose life he saves two times. Though Mary Jane also loves Peter as well, their romance is always disrupted by Peter’s duties as Spiderman.

　　Spiderman’s adversary is the Green Goblin. The Green Goblin causes all sorts of social disruption, which Spiderman must prevent. The Green Goblin wants to team up with Spiderman and rule the city, but Spiderman refuses, vowing to stop his evil plan. In the end, Spiderman wins his battle with this evil villain, but must give up Mary Jane in order to protect her from danger.
