12月9日娛樂秀——Beatles

John Lennon, Beatles的靈魂人物。他去世的時候只有40歲。還有一種説法認為Lennon是死於12月8日，因為他被槍殺的地點是在紐約，因為當時是12月8日。不過John Lennon是英國人，他去世的那天，在英國已經是12月9日了，今天正好是12月9日，我們就來説一説John Lennon以及Beatles樂隊。
John Lennon was born on October 9, 1940 in Liverpool, England. As a child, John was a prankster，這裡prankster是“頑皮的人”的意思。and he enjoyed getting in trouble. At sixteen, he was influenced by Elvis Presley也就是“貓王”。When he meet Paul McCartney his best friend也是“Beatles”的一位靈魂人物保羅*麥卡特尼。Then they formed the great band “Beatles” in 1962.
Beatles的第一張單曲是在1962年發行的"Love Me Do" 很順利地就進入到英國排行榜前20名的位置。接下來的"Please Please Me," 真正使那些Beatles迷們為之瘋狂。從而樹立了他們在樂壇的地位。
From 1962 to 1970, the Beatles recorded 214 songs. They charted 20 Number One singles in the States - a number even greater than Elvis Presley's 17 chart-toppers.
When John re-married with Yoko Ono, in 1970, the Beatles broke up. Then John began his solo career. And he solo released lots of classic song, the famous song Imagine was released at that time. John died of the age of 40 on December 8, 1980, after receiving multiple gun shot in the back.
John的一生中創作了許多經典的歌曲，影響了幾代人，即使是在今天像hip-hop, R&B等都非常流行，但只要Beatles的音樂一響起還是有很多人就會跟著唱起來。而且有很多的歌被後人翻唱。比如：周華健和Beyond就一起翻唱過Yellow submarine, 孫燕姿翻唱了著名的Hey Jude.等等。

Westlife是來自愛爾蘭的合唱團，由五位優秀的年輕人組成。他們是繼Boyzone之後又一個優秀的愛爾蘭演唱團體。Westlife的經濟人就是原來組建Boyzone的經濟人Louis Walsh。他在成功的組建了Boyzone的五年後，也就是1998年又推出了一個同樣成功的Westlife, 可見他眼光獨具啊。
Westlife一經推出就是頻頻獲獎在1999年把許多獎項的什麼“最佳新人，最佳組合”都納入囊中，今天要播放的一首他們曾獲“最佳唱片”稱號的“flying without wings”.

今天我們要學的這首歌是來自Backstreet Boy的As long as you love me《只要你愛我》。
這首歌你是否聽過呢，歌詞是説到“不在乎你是誰，來自哪，做過什麼，只要你愛我。” I don't care who you are, Where you're from, What you did, As long as you love me.這正是這首歌所要表達的。
他們還唱到Risking it all in a glance “我不顧所有的風險”。在這裡我們看到有一個詞是glance是“一瞥，匆匆一看”的意思。在這裡是一個名詞。我們常用的一個詞組是at first glance,可以翻譯為“乍一看”比如説：At first glance the plan seemed unworkable.“乍一看這個計劃不能實行。”
glance還能用作于動詞，比如説glance at the menu“瞥了一眼菜單” glanced in the rearview mirror“瞥了一眼後視鏡”
下面我們要來説一説as long as這個詞組，As long as you love me. As long as在這裡可不是“有多長”的意思。它是一個固定用法是“只要”的意思。比如説：you will succeed as long as you hold on.只要堅持你就會成功。還比如説you will improve your English as long as you always watch our program。只要你不斷地看我們的節目，你的英語一定會提高。
