A Pakistani Taliban commander says he believes that Taliban chief Baitullah Mehsud was killed in a missile attack. He also predicted infighting for succession in the dead leader's party will escalate in the coming days. Meanwhile, another Pakistani Taliban commander has denied any fighting, as well as reports of a deadly shootout with a rival commander. He says both he and the rival are still alive.

The confusion over whether Baitullah Mehsud was actually killed in a missile attack on Wednesday is growing with each passing day.

A spokesman for a Taliban group opposed to Mehsud, says there is no doubt that Baitullah Mehsud who had a five million US dollar bounty on his head is dead.
