US National Security Adviser, James Jones, says the DPRK signaled its willingness to improve relations with the US during former President Bill Clinton's recent visit to Pyongyang. Speaking in a television interview, Jones also said that Washington is nearly certain the Taliban's leader in Pakistan is dead.

In an interview on the "Fox News Sunday" show, James Jones said DPRK officials have indicated they want new and improved relations with the US.

Jones said the DPRK has been eager to hold bilateral talks with the US, adding that the Obama administration would be willing to do this if Pyongyang rejoined the six party talks.

On Tuesday, former President Clinton had a 20-hour visit to Pyongyang. While on a mission to retrieve two detained American journalists, he met with DPRK top leader Kim Jong-Il.
