The crew's two members ejected and were being treated for injuries at the base hospital. Monday's crash came one day after a Russian-owned civilian Mi-8 helicopter crashed at the same base, killing 16 people on board.
Military officials say the crashes are coincidental and not the result of attacks. But a Taliban spokesman said insurgents had shot down a NATO aircraft near the Kandahar base, killing several soldiers.
