South Korea's Unification Ministry has welcomed the new UN sanctions. The Ministry says Seoul will do what it can to enforce them.

Chun Hae-Sung, Spokesman S. Korean Unification Ministry, said, "Our ministry will consult with related ministries to ensure the committee's decision will be faithfully implemented. In the process of economic cooperation with the DPRK, no South Korean companies are believed to have engaged in business transactions with the five companies listed as the subject of sanctions. From now on, the South Korean government will prohibit all transactions, support to and visits by banned companies and officials."
