Special Report: World tackles A/H1N1 flu |
Argentina has confirmed that its death toll from A/H1N1 flu is 137, the second highest in the world.
The Argentinean Health Ministry says the current amount of infected cases is over three thousand. The government has sought to halt the spread of the virus in the country by closing schools and theatres in capital city, giving pregnant workers extended leave and allocating emergency funding.
Neighboring Chile has confirmed more than 10,000 cases, the most in South America, but its mortality is low at 33.
