Talks between South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea resumed today (Thursday) but they are still divided. Delegations from both sides only met for little more than one hour before the talks ended without an afternoon session.

It was hoped the meeting on Thursday would reduce some tension, but it seemed to do anything but.
The day started as the 12 member South Korean delegation readied to cross the 38th parallel to meet their DPRK counterparts in Kaesong joint industrical zone.
The South Korean delegation hoped the meeting would be practical and focus on issues both side could agree on. But South Korea warned it would not give in on principal issues -- such as the arrest of a worker.
Kim Young-Tak, Chief for Inter-Korea Talks said "As you know well, our worker has been detained over 90 days, so today we will take this matter as a priority and strongly urge the North to solve this problem"
