Christmas in Harbin

Christmas parade

The icy city of Harbin turns into a crystal town at night. Streets and buildings lit by ice lateens in multihued lights make the city look even more exotic than the daytime.

Sophia square and the central boulevard are as popular as at night as during the day. Esp. during this season鈥

If you look for a street party, this is the place to be.

鈥淣ow I feel like a part of it!鈥/font>

Celebrating Christmas in a carnival fashion may be hard to imagine in the west, or other parts of china. Here, Harbin locals tell you the reason, simple and right: 鈥淚t is Christmas, it is the night of joy!鈥

The temperature may continue to plummet with the time, the holiday spirit only spurs!!!

Russian Restaurant

Culinary delight always makes a good night out even better.

At Christmas Eve away from home, what can beat a dinner in warm cozy restaurant like one?

Russian influence is infused into every aspect of Harbin life; Russian trade mark food like the red soup, Russian sausage and dark rye bread known as Leba make regular appearance on a Harbin family鈥檚 dinner table; western restaurants are lots more affordable here than many other cities in china and people seemed also much more accustomed with western dining here as well.

The charismas carnival is right outside, inside here, it is all about quiet and intimate dinner in candle light.

The little caf茅 is also a family museum dedicated to Russian Jewish immigrants. It offers a quiet corner for people to recall this part of foggy memory from the not very distant past.
