Christmas in Harbin

Russian Street

The Russian Market Street hides right besides the Guogeli street park. The street is lined up with local markets and shops selling, well, the very predicable鈥

Northeast China is not the place for animal rights activists, no one can easily survive the temperature without natural fur, the gift from nature as North Chinese put it.

Even you are not a serious buyer, as a tourist, enjoy you鈥檙e the fun and freedom of simply being one!

Songhua River winding through Harbin served as important trade artery both in summer and winter. It divides the city into the north and the south part and formed two riverside parks on each side.

The north side of the riverside park has been Harbin鈥檚 Hampton since the turn of last century, a vocational summer town where the rich and glamorous built summerhouses lounging in summer time, also with public area for the ordinary people to get a breath of fresh air in nature at a very reasonable distance and cost.

For those who like activity holidays, this is the playground, even though every move you make, every breath you take, you will fill the powerful nature, the coldness, it is not impossible to endure. As a Harbin local would lecture you, there is no wrong weather, blame yourself for wrong clothes.

Simplify your needs first then happiness comes along. I understood it better in Harbin. Not feeling cold alone granded me enough sense of accomplishment and brought much joy faster before I actually warmed up by the activities.

Armed with that feel of triumph, other bummers are lot easier to take鈥

Harbin is famous being the hometown of beautiful girls with a passion for fashion. And European influenced sense of style. Among this group of random friends I met the Riverside park, besides been struck by their homegrown charm, I could not help noticing the high ratio of pretty girls when they finally took off their hats and scarves鈥

Having hotpot in icehouse, experiencing the extreme hot and extremely cold at the same time, where else can you do that, who else would like to do that?!
