On the first page of Qinghai tourism brochure, it said: if you never been northwest of China you will not know how large China is; if you never visit Qinghai, which is called the top of the world you will not know the feeling of touching the sky.
Xining is the capital city of Qinghai province. It took me about 2 hours by flight from Beijing to Xining. My first impression about Qinghai is the endless landscape and generous ethnic people. Qinghai prairie is the fourth largest in China. It occupied 3.8 million hectares of grassland. There many minority groups in Qinghai includes Tibetan, Too, Salar and Mongolian.
I arrived Xining city in the evening, the night view and up to date freeway were not much different compare with other modern cities in China. There are a few five star hotels; taxi is handy and 24 hours available on the main streets; restaurants, bars, ktv sights scattered in downtown area. We settled in the Holiday Inn near the public library. The night in Xining is chilly even in the middle of summer, but very comfortable for sleeping.
When the daylight is creeping in, the magnificent scenery of Qinghai astonishes the world with its beauty and wildness. Welcome to Travelogue and please watch our show on the first week of September 鈥 Qinghai.
