There are a few things that impress me very much on the trip to Jing Gang Shan. There was no flight could take us there at that time. The only way to get to the destination is by car. First of all, we took off from Beijing to Nan Chang of Jiangxi province. Then the local authority picked us up from the airport to Jing Gang Shan. The trip was quite lengthy and difficult. At beginning, the car went on a standard freeway but we had to dodge through many commercial trucks and avoided local traffic. After we passed the tollbooth, the weather had changed. The heavy rain poured down like we drove through a endless waterfall that every one in the car had to extremely alert on the road. Luckily we had a good driver. The trip was 6 hours long.

Just before we reached Jing Gang Shan, a massive construction site came into our view. There were more than 15 huge building projects were developing on a humongous flat landscape in the middle of scattered mountains. I was told this would be the future new downtown. All the buildings are government offices, schools and residential complexes. Also, other projects such as national freeway, power plan and new airport are also in the process. The locals described it as that Jing Gang Shan will be a brand new city instead of having a facelift.

When we arrived the destination, it was getting dark and the rain was stopped. Our crew checked in a modern hotel but I could not wait to visit the Red Army compound in the next day.
